MetronomeWe recognize that our artistic success depends on the talent and skills of our band members. As one of the most respected and recognized arts organizations in the Treasure Coast, we must demand excellence and dedication from our members. If you are interested in joining the band and are ready to give it your all, we invite you to apply to become a member.

Membership in the Port St. Lucie Community Band is open to qualified, outstanding area musicians willing to commit their time and effort to our organization. Prospective members are requested to begin the membership process by contacting our Board President Pat Vaida at (860) 933-2960, or by sending an email to info@pslcommunityband.org

Invitations will be extended based upon qualifications and the band's current instrumentation needs. Once invited to participate with the Band, prospective members are considered probationary for several rehearsals, for the purpose of further evaluation in a full band setting. Regular membership follows the probationary period.

Band Rehearsals

Where?

Indian River State College — McAlpin Fine Arts Theatre Building

Come Join UsOur music consists of a full variety of band music. We are ever expanding our repertoire to provide variety for both the public and our musicians. For our musicians, we provide an avenue for the extension of musical studies and lifetime enrichment for instrumentalists. As a band, we work to expand and enhance our community's appreciation of the unique concert band sound and literature.

We rehearse nearly year-round to provide entertainment – from old favorites by Duke Ellington, to toe tapping marches by Sousa, to classics by Mussorgsky – at many community concerts and public events. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the band rehearsal hall at Indian River State College. We rehearse in a well lit comfortable room. Chairs and music stands are provided for every musician. You are expected to come prepared to each rehearsal and practice the literature between rehearsals to master the repertory.
